Dustin Smith's area. Older JC RHP with good body and super easy arm. Relative ease creates some deception issues and hitters see FB better than
velocity indicates. Lacks outpitch SL, but lands it for strikes and CH plays very well off of FB for swing/miss secondary. Likely ends up a reliever at
the end of the day, but would send out as a starter and give every chance there with foundation of 3 pitch mix. Interesting arm to add to the
system, JC target with potential for big stuff in pen role.

JC RHP. Big arm talent/interesting story. 22 yr old in 3rd year of JC. FR year Covid yr. Took next yr off to help with sick mother back home. Last yr
Cov-FR. Made big jump this year as 22 yr old. Easy mid 90's FB, up to 97. Big spin to it w/ gd enough strikes. Do question deception some w/ clean
look. SL keeps getting harder/better. Inflated ERA. Plays in KS West JC conference w/ several bandboxes/heavy winds. Like the money save
potential here and getting a prospect. More work needed w/ makeup
Smith
JC RHS. Starter ingredients/checks boxes. Body/athleticism, more to come, delivery/AA work in sync. Flashes plus velocity, spin/finish, strikes over
command/both sides at times. SL is abrupt w/solid power when right, can deceive naturally w/CHG. 3 true weapons w/aggressive mentality and
throws strikes, lots to like despite age/level of competition. Makings of a stuff/pitchability guy, rotation piece to mold.
Smith
R5 starter with clean delivery, out pitch SL, feel for 3 pitches. Solid strikes/stuff blend. AA command of FB/SL to pair with AVG CH. Easy plus velo
that plays lighter than gun. Could be a limiting factor, feel command and raw velo will be there to still play above average. Feel for delivery,
easyness, and some physical upside give confidence he can hold as a starter. Buying the ingredients to start. Age doesn’t bother me, mound time
doesn’t equal age here. Day 2 target
