I am a Senior Associate with the IP team of Saraf and Partners Law Offices, based in Bangalore, popularly known as the Silicon Valley of India. As to my educational background, I pursued my B.A.LL.B from Symbiosis International University, Pune and later pursued LL.M (specializing in IP Laws) from the Geoge Washington University Law School, Washington D.C. Currently, I have almost 6 years of corporate experience of advising on IP matters, especially handling trademarks and brand portfolios for my clients which include multi-national corporations and start-ups of fields such as Aviation, Hotels and Hospitality, Foods & Beverages, Pathology, Laboratory, Healthcare and Medicine, Fashion, Beauty etc. My scope of work includes developing and implementing brand protection and enforcement strategies, cease & desist notices, infringement and passing off suits, standardizing IP and other forms of commercial agreements, due diligence from IP perspective to support corporate and other strategic transactions and track new laws to provide risk mitigating solutions. Throughout my life I have had the privilege of being surrounded by inspiring women, starting from my mother to my official mentors such as Ms. Vindhya S. Mani (former Intern mentor, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan), Ms. Susan Karamanian (former Professor, GW Law School), Ms. Reshma Vaidya (former Managing Associate, Luthra & Luthra Law Offices) and Ms. Gayatri Roy (former Partner, Saraf and Partners) – hence I understand the worth of this mentorship platform for women.
